Ice advances with second straight playoff shutout

The Indiana Ice advanced to the Eastern Conference finals with a 1-0 win over the Green Bay Gamblers Friday night in the USHL playoffs.

Denis Smirnov scored the game's only goal for the second straight contest in the first period. Jason Pawloski stopped all 22 shots he faced for his second straight shutout.

The win gave the Ice a three games to one win in the best-of-five series.

Indiana will face the winner of the series between Dubuque and Cedar Rapids. The first two games of the series will be played at Pan Am Pavilion next Friday and Saturday (April 25-26). Face-off for both games will be at 7:05 p.m.
