I-65 & I-70 pavement repairs cause weekend restrictions
Contractors for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will have road restrictions on I-65 and I-70 this weekend.
South of Indianapolis, southbound traffic lanes on I-65 approaching Southport Road (Exit 103) will go down to one lane during the day as repairs are made to pavement. Restrictions will be increased to double-lanes during non-peak traffic periods (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.). All lane restrictions are expected to end by 5 a.m. Monday.
Another $1.2 million pavement restoration project will restrict lanes on I-70 near the downtown area and on the east side.

Contractors plan to repair pavement this weekend on I-70 west of I-65 (south split) to I-465. The right and center lanes of westbound I-70 from I-65 (south split) west to I-465 will be restricted beginning at 9 p.m. Friday.
The center and left lanes of eastbound I-70 between I-465 and I-65 (south split) will also be restricted beginning at 9 p.m. Friday.
The lanes are expected to remain closed until Sunday, June 23 at approximately 2:00 p.m. The extended restriction will allow new concrete adequate time to cure.
Weekend lane restrictions for pavement replacement and sealing are expected to continue for approximately two months. Repairs will be made to both eastbound and westbound I-70. Work is weather-dependent and will be rescheduled in the event of rain.
INDOT reminds drivers to be cautious and considerate when traveling through highway work zones. Be attentive to signs, message boards and work zone speed limits, as well as other drivers.
