Hoosier's software managed Super Bowl volunteers
A central Indiana woman says the wide geographic range of Super Bowl XLVIII activities and high levels of security have made volunteer management more challenging for this year's game.
Florence May of McCordsville led a command center from her office in Indianapolis after providing an online volunteer management system for event organizers to register and track an estimated 9,000 volunteers in the days leading up to the game in East Rutherford, N.J.
The Indianapolis Star reports her web-based computer software called The Registration System makes it easier for organizations to coordinate volunteers and organize events of all sizes. This was the fourth Super Bowl to use the software after Tampa Bay in 2009, North Texas in 2011 and Indianapolis in 2012.
