The nation's college basketball coaches have tabbed Indiana as the top team in the country headed into the new season.

The Hoosiers received 21 of 31 first place votes to top the USA Today coaches' preseason poll, which was released Wednesday. They are joined in the top five by Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State and Michigan. The Cardinals and Wildcats each received five first place votes.

Indiana beat three top five teams on their way to a 27-9 record last year. Those victories were highlighted by a win over Kentucky at Assembly Hall December 10. The Wildcats won the rematch in the NCAA Tournament.

"We aren't too worried about it right now. We've got a lot of stuff to work on. We're trying to be number one at the end of the season, so we aren't too worried about the preseason poll," said sophomore Cody Zeller.

"It feels good, but you know, I can't get the big head. I know we have a bulls eye on our back and we're just going to have to be in the gym everyday working, because we know guys are going to come after us," said freshman Yogi Ferrell.

Indiana starts the regular season November 9 against Bryant.

Notre Dame is ranked 23rd in the preseason poll and Butler also received votes.
