Scattered showers with a few isolated thunderstorms moved mainly along and south of I-70 today. Cloud coverage has put a limit on hot temperatures today and it will also help limit wide spread showers and storms tonight.
Despite the lack of sunshine, there is still the possibility of scattered showers with embedded storms this evening through tomorrow morning. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with temperatures falling into the upper 60s.
The best chance of rain on Sunday will be during the morning hours although a few spotty showers and storms can't be ruled out during the afternoon. Highs will top out in the low 80s.
At this point, Sunday night looks dry with more showers and storms returning on Labor Day. The best timing right now looks like late afternoon and evening. Some storms on Monday could be strong to severe.
The unsettled pattern continues through the middle of the week. The heat and humidity stick around through the extended forecast.
