Heavy fog delays schools, flights
Heavy fog has settled over northwest and north central Indiana this morning, prompting more than a dozen schools to call for two-hour delays.
Some counties report visibility on the roads down to 20 feet in some areas.
The Tippecanoe County sheriff's office issued a message to use caution while traveling.
The fog is having an impact on holiday travel out of Chicago.
The National Weather Service has extended the dense fog advisory to 1:00 pm for northern Indiana and the Chicago area.
Five departures to Chicago were delayed from Indianapolis International Airport Wednesday morning, and five arrivals from Chicago were delayed due to visibility problems at O'Hare.
