Hancock County man charged with multiple counts of child molestation
A 42-year-old Hancock County man faces multiple charges in connection with child molestation allegations.
Michael Spencer of New Palestine is charged with 24 counts of child molestation and other charges. He's accused of engaging in sex acts with three different girls and a boy on separate occasions.
All of the girls were minors at the time of the alleged incidents, and one of the girls told police she and Spencer had had sexual intercourse at least 100 times starting when she was around 12 or 13 years old. One of the other girls told police the molestation started when she was seven or eight years old.
The alleged incidents took place in New Palestine and in Greenfield, the most recent one taking place just three weeks ago, according to court documents.
The incidents occurred within the last 12 years, according to court documents.
The allegations came to light after one of the alleged victims confided in a friend, and told the friend about trading money for sex.
The victim also says Spencer threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone.
Michael Spencer's estranged wife Rebecca Spencer also faces charges. She's accused of knowing about the accusations but failing to report them.
