The following are trick or treat times for central Indiana communities for Halloween 2013.

Check out our slide show here, and share your pictures at pix@wthr.com!

The weather is expected to be stormy Thursday during peak trick or treat hours, and many cities and towns have moved their official hours to Friday.

Indoor events:

Simon Property Group has announced that the Mall-O-Ween events at Castleton Square Mall, Greenwood Park Mall, and Washington Square Mall have been postponed until Friday, November 1. Castleton will welcome trick-or-treaters from 4 to 6 p.m., while Greenwood and Washington Square will host trick-or-treaters from 6 to 8 p.m.

Oct. 31:

The Indiana State Fairgrounds is holding their annual safe trick or treating event from 5 to 7. It's planned for the Champions Pavilion, an indoor venue.

Mercy Road Church, 10505 N. College 5-8 pm - Homeplace Halloween

New Horizons United Methodist Church in Anderson is holding a trunk 'n treat from 5 to 7, which will also be moved into the gym in case of bad weather. The church is at 611 East 53rd Street.

Decatur Township Fire Department's Safe Halloween event has been moved to the Armstrong Pavilion, 5251 Kentucky Ave., main door, on the Decatur Central High School campus, Oct. 31, 5:30 to 8:00 pm.

The Children's Museum Guild decided to keep the Haunted House open until 8:30 p.m. on Halloween, offering children and families a safe and dry place to trick-or-treat. The house will be decked out for IPL's Lights-On Hours recommended for children who scare easily. Friendly-faced greeters will be passing out treats allowing children and families an alternate way to trick-or-treat. This year's theme, Time Warp, takes families on an awfully amazing journey back in time to explore five "deadcades" of movies, music, television, and history through a terrifying Time Warp. New this year--see it in 3-D! The Haunted House was previously scheduled to be open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Halloween. It will now be open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 3:30-8:30 p.m., allowing for a shift change between 3 and 3:30 p.m. The rest of the museum will close as scheduled at 5 p.m.

Trick or treat times by city or town (we've put communities which have changed their trick or treat hours in bold.) If no time is listed, it's best to stick with 6-8pm.

Carmel recommending 5-8pm Friday, November 1

"The City of Carmel has no ordinance in place to mandate a time for families to Trick or Treat. Typically, the Carmel Police Department announces suggested Halloween Trick or Treating hours from 5 - 8 p.m. on October 31. However, due to the anticipated inclement weather approaching, we recommend you Trick or Treat on Friday, November 1 from 5 - 8 p.m.

We anticipate that there will be some confusion as Halloween falls on October 31 and some youth or families may participate on this nationally recognized holiday regardless of the weather. It is ultimately up to the families on which day they would like to Trick or Treat.

It is strongly discouraged to be outside during inclement weather. Therefore, if weather conditions appear unsafe on October 31 we recommend you use your best judgment and postpone your Trick or Treating. The Carmel Police Department will be enforcing safety rules carefully all week."

Tipton, 5-8 pm, Thursday, October 31:

"The suggested Halloween hours for tonight, as set by the City Council on October 14th remain in effect. At this writing weather forecasters are still predicting strong winds and rain, and perhaps thunderstorms, during the 5-8 p.m. time period this evening.

The hours approved by the council are to provide some structure to Halloween related activities in our community. The suggested hours do not have the force of law and Halloween activities are permitted at other times.

Parents should exercise full discretion and control over the Halloween activities of their children. Obviously, home occupants have full control over when and whether they receive Halloween guests.

Remember that venues offering shelter from the weather will be open for some Halloween activities. Several of those have been reported on in the Tribune in the past several days.

On behalf of all city employees, the council and the mayor's office, Mayor Don Havens, wishes all citizens, especially our children, a safe and happy Halloween.

Mayor Don Havens
