A Greenwood man drowned Thursday evening while fishing and kayaking in the White River in Morgan County.

Conservation officers say 29-year-old Adam Fuller had been kayaking with a friend in the river when his kayak flipped and some of his fishing gear went into the water. When Fuller went back to find the lost gear, he slipped and fell into the water. Though he was wearing a life jacket, the current pulled him under the water and a strong undertow did not allow him to resurface.

Fuller's body was found near the IPL dam on the river, near the north junction of SR 67 and SR 39 in Morgan County.

An autopsy will be performed Friday to determine an exact cause of death.
