A nine-year-old girl will undergo surgery Friday after she was hit by a school bus yesterday in Bartholomew County.

Investigators say a substitute bus driver accidentally ran over the girl and her six-year-old brother when they darted into the street Thursday morning.

Aiyanna Moffitt was airlifted to Riley Children's Hospital with serious injuries. Family members say she is having surgery on her broken leg and hip today.

Her brother, Brian Moffitt, was treated and released from Columbus Regional Hospital.
