Georgia man charged with murder in toddler's car seat death
A Georgia man whose son died after being left in a hot car for seven hours has been charged with murder.
A Cobb County grand jury Thursday indicted Justin Ross Harris on multiple charges in his son's death, including malice murder, felony murder and cruelty to children.
Harris says he was supposed to drive his 22-month-old son to day care June 18th, but drove to work without realizing that the child was strapped into a car seat in the back.
After leaving work seven hours later he remembered he left his son in the car. He pulled into a parking lot and tried to revive him.
Prosecutors claim Harris killed his son because he wanted a child free life.
The charges carry a possible life sentence.
