Friend says he thought Tsarnaev was bombing suspect
A man told federal agents he suspected his friend Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was being sought in the Boston Marathon bombing when he removed items from Tsarnaev's dorm room.
Dias Kadyrbayev acknowledged during testimony Tuesday that he suspected Tsarnaev was one of two men whose photographs were released by the FBI three days after twin explosions at the 2013 marathon killed three people and injured more than 260.
Authorities say he told them that he and another Tsarnaev friend went to Tsarnaev's dorm room at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and took Tsarnaev's backpack containing fireworks and threw it in a trash bin.
Kadyrbayev's testimony came while he was cross-examined by a prosecutor during a hearing on his request to suppress the statements he made to authorities.
