Friday business day ahead
There are three major economic reports scheduled for release today.
The Labor Department will release the Producer Price Index for July. In June, rising gasoline costs pushed up prices but overall inflation remained tame.
The Federal Reserve will report on July's industrial production. U.S. factory output increased for a fifth straight month in June as manufacturers produced more aircraft, chemicals and furniture.
Also today, the Treasury Department will report how much foreign buyers adjusted their holdings of U.S. debt in June. In May, foreign buyers of Treasurys increased their holdings to another record high.
