Franklin Police have made an arrest in an armed robbery at a gas station last Thursday. Police say the whole thing was staged.

Joel D. Glassburn, 22, of Franklin, was arrested.

Police say Glassburn, the store clerk, reported being robbed in the early hours of Aug. 7, 2014, by a white male suspect allegedly armed with a gun, although he said no firearm was displayed during the robbery.

Franklin Police say Glassburn conspired with a 20-year-old Franklin man to stage the robbery.

Glassburn faces a charge of felony theft and another for false reporting. Police have not named the alleged accomplice, but they will request a warrant for misdemeanor theft in that case.

Investigators believe Glassburn also stole cash deposits from his employer earlier that same night. Some of the cash, along with clothing worn during the staged robbery, was recovered from the accomplice's home.
