Franklin Police investigate bank robbery

Franklin Police are investigating a bank robbery at the Main Source Bank on Banta Street.

It happened around 1:30 pm Wednesday. Police say a man walked into the bank, displayed a hand gun and demanded money from the teller.

The man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank on foot.

The suspect was described as a tan white male in his mid to late twenties, approximately 5'7" tall, thin build, wearing a red hooded (Indiana) sweatshirt, sunglasses, and black sweat pants.

Officers en route ordered the lockdown of the nearby Franklin schools as a safety precaution until the scene was confirmed safe. Students were released on time.
