Fourth of July events for central Indiana 2014

Avon - Don't be afraid to get a little messy at Avon's Freedom Day this year. The Chamber of Commerce is offering delicious ribs and other food at their tenth annual Hendricks County Rib-Fest. Head over to King's Way Christian Church on June 28th at 4pm, and stay until fireworks start after dusk. Event details here.

Beech Grove
- The Beech Grove Promoter's Club will hold "All-American Day in the Park" on July 3 at Sarah T. Bolton Park. Events start at 4:00 p.m., with food, kids' activities and local bands. Fireworks begin at dark. Event details here.

Bloomington Speedway Fireworks take place tonight at dusk at 5185 S Fairfax Rd. Saturday at 10pm, catch fireworks at Monroe County Fairgrounds, 5700 Airport Rd in Bloomington, Indiana 47403.

Brownsburg - Brownsburg's Fourth of July Extravaganza at Arbuckle Acres Park comes complete with a carnival, corn tent, and bingo games. Wrist band nights for the carnival are July 1, 3, and 5. The parade on July 4th starts at 10 am, and fireworks begin at approximately 10:00 pm that night. Event details here.

Carmel - Make this Fourth of July one to remember at CarmelFest, the town's largest community festival. Take a ride on a tethered hot air balloon, test your skills at the CarmelFest Has Talent Vocal Competition, or head over to the KidZone for more fun. The town's fireworks start at 9:45 right after the CarmelFest Symphony Performance, and will be launched just north of the Carmel Palladium. Event details here. How to volunteer here.

Cicero - Grab a glo-stick and watch fireworks light up the sky over Morse Lake. Celebrate with Cicero on July 4-6 as they host events like the Animal Oasis Petting Zoo & Pony Rides, live concerts, Galloways's Zip Line Adventures, and the Kids Carnival all weekend long. Columbus - See fireworks on July 3 at the Columbus Municipal Airport at 10 pm. Event details here.

Danville - Danville's Family 4th Fest kicks off at 100 Warrior Way End on July 4, and fireworks begin at dark. Event details are here.  Then, end the holiday celebration the right way on July 10 at the Symphony in Ellis Park in the Martin Amphitheatre. The event starts at 8 pm, and details are here.

Fishers - Participate in a The Fishers Freedom Festival will be hosting events all week long at Roy G. Holland Memorial Park, but make sure to the see fireworks later on June 29 at Holland Memorial Park at 9:50 pm. Event details here.

For a more historical experience, families can head to Connor Prairie's Glorious Fourth Celebration and listen to a reading of the Declaration of Independence or sing old patriotic songs. Activities are included with the price of general admission. The Star Spangled Symphony will also be holding a show every night at Connor Prairie at 8:00 pm from July 3-5. Event details here.

Blast On The Bridge - Head on over to Geist Reservoir Bridge at 11691 Fall Creek Rd. From 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm, the Fall Creek Road bridge closes to car traffic and converts into a family-friendly fireworks pre-show. Attendees bring lawn chairs to enjoy an evening featuring a boat parade, skydivers, music, food vendors, and a KidsZone, all topped by an amazing fireworks show scheduled to start at dark. 

Greenwood - Help Greenwood celebrate 150 years this Independence Day. Their parade starts at 10 am and anyone wishing to enjoy live music may do so at Craig Park from 11:30-4:30. Fireworks begin at 10:15 pm. Event details here.

June 3

Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra celebrates America's birthday with A Musical Salute to America on June 3. Pack your lunch and enjoy classic songs like America the Beautiful. The event starts at 12:15 p.m. Tickets are $5.

July 4

10 p.m. Donato's Downtown Freedom Blast from the top of the Region's Bank Tower at 10 pm The show is synchronized to all the patriotic tunes you love, broadcasted over radio stations like 97.1 HANK FM, B105.7 or 93.1 WIBC

6:30 pm Remember those who fought for your freedom and save a seat early for fireworks at the Indiana War Memorial Grounds. Activities start at 6:30, and Donatos pizza, chips, cookies, and soda will be available for families.

2-10 pm For those wishing to celebrate both Independence Day and a good cause, head over to Georgia Street for the INDYpendence Day Concert for Cancer from 2-10 pm General admission is $20.

The Howl at the Moon piano bar will be offering special drinks at their Red, White and Brew Bash from noon-10 pm on the east block of Georgia Street.

Watch the Indianapolis Indians take on the Louisville Bats at 6:05 p.m in America's favorite pastime. Enjoy a hot dog and stay at Victory Field after the final pitch to watch fireworks downtown.

The Indiana History Center, and it's Indiana Experience (exhibit), are free all day on the fourth. Guests can enjoy special family activities from 10 AM - 5 PM. The center is also offering FREE band concerts at the canal as part of their Concerts on the Canal Summer Offerings. The Indianapolis Municipal Band will play patriotic pieces from 5-6:30, and the Sounds of the Impalas from 7:30-9:30. Tables closer to the stage are available for purchase.

Kokomo - Fireworks begin at Foster Park at 10:00 pm on July 5. Event details here.

Lawrence - Enjoy celebrations all week long and ride a carnival rides, enjoy the talents of American Idol contestant Marrialle Sellers, or have a drink at The Beer Garden for FourthFest. Fireworks begin at 10:00 pm

Lebanon - Save a seat at Memorial Park the night before and get ready for one of The Friendly City's most beloved traditions. Lebanon's annual Fourth of July parade kicks off at 2pm. Fireworks are at Lebanon Middle School at 10 pm. Event details here.

Linton - Celebrate with nearly 40,000 people at "Indiana's Largest Independence Day Parade". Celebrate community at The Linton Freedom Festival with a carnival, live bands, horse-pulls, lip sync contests, a parade and much more. 

Marion - Fireworks begin at dusk at Ballard Field. Event details here.

Muncie - Enjoy fireworks on the levee by Muncie Central High School at dusk, or at 5th Prairie Creek Resevoir for their fireworks display. Event details here. 

Noblesville - Cars of all kinds are being revved up at Noblesville's Fourth of July Festival, Parade, & Car Show. The parade starts at 5pm and awards for the car show begins at 8:30 pm. Event details here.

Pendleton - Fourth at the Falls - fireworks at dusk at Falls Park Pendleton Ave. 

Plainfield - 2014 Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Hummel Park, 1500 S. Center St. featuring the Hendricks Symphonic Orchestra July 4, 2014 — 5:00 p.m. Featuring carnival-style food vendors, bounce houses for the kids, live music and more.

Shelbyville - Fireworks at dusk at Shelby County Fairgrounds, 500 Frank St. in Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.

Westfield - Westfield's fifth annual Independence Day celebration, Westfield Rocks the 4th, will be held in Asa Bales Park. Event details here.

Whitestown - Fireworks will be set off at the Eagle Church on S. Main Street Saturday, July 5 at 9:30 p.m.

Yorktown - Run or walk at the Four for the Fourth in an effort to raise awareness and support for the trail systems in Yorktown. The parade on Water Street starts at 9:00 AM, and the fireworks display over the York River is at 9:15 pm. Event details here.

Zionsville - Come support the Zionsville Lions Club at the All-American July 4th Celebration in Lions Park. It is the the organization's second most profitable fundraiser. The food, music and fun begin in the park at 5:00 pm and are followed by the fireworks at dusk. Parking in Lions Park is for a $5 donation. Event details here.

Holiday World - Bring in the fourth at the only amusement park in the world with a 4th of July-themed section! Holiday World's offers families the chance to celebrate the day riding rides like the Star Spangled Carousel, Revolution, Liberty Launch, and the Sparkler. Red, White & Blueberry Funnel Cakes will be offered, and wraps up the day with their 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza. Event details here.

Indiana Beach - Honor your birthright by screaming your head off on one of Indiana Beach's brand new rides. The park is also offering free ski shows and street performances throughout the day. Hang out until 10:30 PM on both Friday and Saturday night for fireworks. 

Eiteljorg Museum - Check out a different side of American history at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians & Western Art. The museum is offering FREE admission all day from 10 AM - 5 PM.
