Fort Wayne VA hospital offers vets free flu shots

The VA Northern Indiana Health Care System Fort Wayne campus is holding a drive-thru flu shot clinic Saturday morning.

Free flu vaccines will be available to all veterans who are registered in a VA facility. WANE-TV reports the hospital says veterans will need to present their VA identification cards.

Officials say non-registered veterans should contact a local VA Northern Indiana facility for eligibility information before Saturday. VA staff will then advise if they are eligible.

The clinic runs from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Also, the American Legion tells WTHR that free flu shots are available for veterans across the state. Call 988-4498 if you are in Indianapolis or call 888-878-6889 to arrange for a free flu shot elsewhere throughout the state.
