A Florida man has pleaded guilty in northern Indiana to charges that he helped two other men steal more than $500,000 worth of cargo in a trucking scam.

Twenty-four-year-old Roberto Macaya Gonzalez of Hialeah, Fla., pleaded guilty Tuesday in Allen Superior Court to felony corrupt business influence. Additional counts of theft that he had faced will be dismissed under his plea agreement.

The Journal Gazette reports that Gonzalez and two other men are accused of stealing more than $500,000 worth of cargo as part of a trucking scam.

Court documents allege the men picked up loads from metal recycler OmniSource and Rea, a magnet wire producer, but those loads never made it to their destinations in the Midwest and Northeast.
