When WTHR decided to pack up Flat Chuck for a trip to the London Olympic Games, we had no idea what a phenomenon he would turn out to be.

Perhaps only Flat Chuck appreciated his capacity for greatness. But as the Olympics progressed and he met new athletes and celebrities each day, it became apparent that there was no limit to what Flat Chuck could achieve.

On Sunday WTHR learned that the Associated Press picked up his story.

"Wow! Flat Chuck is now around the nation and world!" Meteorologist Chuck Lofton posted on his Facebook page, sharing links to some of the news outlets that posted the story. (See them here and here.)

Flat Chuck's shining moment came when beach volleyball gold medalists Misty May Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings placed a gold medal around his neck and offered him a smooch - all on WTHR Sunrise! (See the video here.)

Flat Chuck attended the gold medal soccer match where the US women defeated Japan (thanks to intrepid WTHR Olympics correspondent Anne Marie Tiernon, who smuggled him into the game in her purse). He also met Ryan Seacrest, NBC reporter Kevin Tibbles, Team USA soccer star Hope Solo, US decathlon gold medalist Ashton Eaton, 1976 decathlon gold medalist Bruce Jenner, diving gold medalist David Boudia and let's not forget about NBC sports anchor Bob Costas!

WTHR viewers have demanded to know what lies ahead for Flat Chuck. Stay tuned! You have not seen the last of him! (And if you have suggestions, please post them in the comments section below. We'd love to hear your ideas!)
