Five injured in Shelby County crash


Five people were injured when their minivan drove off the road near Shelby County 600 West, just south of SR 252 in far southern Shelby County early Friday morning.

The van went down an embankment into a dry creek bed, and two of the five people, both women, needed to be rescued by emergency crews.

None of the five suffered life-threatening injuries, but all were transported to various hospitals.

One man was flown by Lifeline to IU Health-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Three others were taken by ambulance to Shelby County, and the fifth person left by ambulance to Franklin.

Police told Eyewitness News the five people ranged in age from 17-to-21 years old.
