Conservation officers arrested five men Tuesday for public indecency and nudity in an Edinburgh park.

Responding to complaints from the public, DNR officers in plain clothes arrested the men for allegedly exposing themselves or fondling the officers at the Driftwood Public Fishing Area on US 31.

Martin Dobbs, 62 of Edinburgh, and 64-year-old Ronnie Jones of Franklin were both arrested for public indecency, public nudity and battery. John Kimbler, 64, of Indianapolis, 42-year-old Matthew Nichols of Greenwood and 63-year-old Barry Hearin of Franklin were arrested for public indecency.

All of the charges are misdemeanors and require a court appearance.

"One of our primary goals is to make all of our DNR properties safe and family-friendly," said DNR 1st Sgt. Jeff Barker. "This type of illicit behavior does not fit within that goal."
