A Fishers couple is back home in Indiana after a life-changing trip to Europe.

Terrance and Alicia Broussard traveled to Rome where they had the rare opportunity to meet Pope Francis I.

They were married three years ago in a civil ceremony while Alicia was still in the process of becoming Catholic. Now that she is Catholic, they decided to dress up all over again and receive a blessing from the leader of the Catholic Church.

Terrance and Alicia were among 30 other couples who got to meet the pontiff himself at the Vatican.

"It was amazing to meet him, too, because you see him on TV all of the time, and he's just so full of life," said Alicia. "Even if you didn't know who he was, you'd just be like, 'Wow this is a really good man.'...He just had like this youthful glow about him. And he was not in a hurry. He was ready to sit there and talk to everybody."

Alicia said they got to shake and kiss Pope Francis' hand. She called the unforgettable experience the perfect culmination of her conversion to Catholicism.
