Firefighters battle vacant house fire on the southeast side
Indianapolis firefighters were dispatched to a house fire just before 10:30 a.m. Sunday on the southeast side in the 2500 block of Southeastern Avenue.
The first crews arriving on scene found heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of residence. They quickly discovered that the house was vacant and moved firefighting efforts to the outside of the structure. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.
There were no injuries.
According to IFD officials they were called to this same address on June 26th, 2013 for a fire in the garage area. The next day a fire in the house injured three IFD firefighters.
