The Chicago Sun-Times and NBC News are reporting that famed film critic Roger Ebert has died after a battle with cancer.

The news comes just one day after Ebert announced on his blog he was battling the disease yet again.

The 70-year-old said a hip fracture in December led to the new diagnosis. He was undergoing radiation treatment.

Ebert lost his voice and much of his jaw after battling thyroid and gland cancer. He was still planning on writing reviews for the Sun-Times.

Ebert was with the paper for 46 years. He typically wrote more than 200 reviews a year.
