Fewer children sent to ER for cough/cold medication problems
Restrictions on cold and cough medicines are keeping kids out of the emergency room.
The CDC has found visits to the ER for complications linked to the medicine have gone down for children under two. It went from one in 25 visits to one in 40 since the restrictions went into effect.
Five years ago, labels were changed on cough and cold medication, warning the drugs should not be used in young children.
