Fever host Lynx in pivotal playoff game tonight
Excitement is building ahead of tonight's WNBA finals game at Banker's Life Fieldhouse. The Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx are currently tied with one win apiece in the best-of-five series.
Approximately 2000 tickets were still available Friday morning, and $10 will get you a seat to see the best that women's basketball has to offer. They have already sold more than 12,000 tickets, but they're hoping for a sell out. The 4,000 free tickets provided by the Pacers were distributed Thursday.
"We need our fans here," said Fever head coach Lin Dunn. "You guys truly are a sixth man. I know for us when we're on the court and we look out and it's loud and people are cheering, just so involved in the game, it just makes it that much more exciting."
The Fever won the first game of the playoff series on the road, then they lost Game 2 at Minnesota Wednesday. Now, they're hoping for a win back in at home.
It's not often you get to see a three-time Olympic gold medalist in action. Fever star forward Tamika Catchings won her latest medal in the London games this summer. "Get ready for Game 3 here with our fans, in our arena, in our home," said Catchings. "We're excited about where we are. Any time you can come home and be 1 and 1, you're optimistic - and we are."
Game 2 Wednesday was the highest-rated WNBA Playoff game on ESPN in 14 years.
Tip off tonight is at 8:00 p.m.
