Fever focus on keeping momentum for Game Two vs. Lynx


Wednesday night, the Indiana Fever tip off game 2 of the WNBA Finals and hope to take a 2-0 lead in the series against the defending champions.

Sunday night, the Fever shocked the Minnesota Lynx 76-70 in game one. Tamika Catchings led the Fever with 20 points and Erlana Larkins added 16 points and 15 rebounds. Her 15 boards matched the second-best rebounding effort in WNBA Finals history. Erin Phillips finished with 13 points and Briann January added 11 while the Fever compensated for the absence of playoffs scoring leader Katie Douglas (sprained left ankle). Indiana led by as many as 10 points early and again in the fourth quarter, after forcing Minnesota into 12 straight missed shots to begin the final period.

Game two starts at 8:00 pm tonight in Minnesota. hen the series moves to Indiana with Game 3 Friday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Fever fans can gather in Castleton to watch Game 2 on Wednesday evening, by joining a Fever viewing party at the Ale Emporium (8617 Allisonville Road) beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tipoff is at 8:00 pm.

On Thursday, 24 hours before the WNBA Finals return to Indy for the first time since the team's historic playoff run in 2009, fans can join a Fever playoff rally at Circle Center Mall Food Court from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Fans will be greeted by Freddy Fever, with cheer cards, music, prizes and fun highlighting the event.

• Tickets for the WNBA Finals are available at FeverBasketball.com, the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets.

• Less than 500 lower level tickets remain for single-game purchase for Game 3, Friday, Oct. 19. There are a limited number of seats available for FREE by placing a $50 deposit on a full season ticket package for the 2013 season (call 317-917-2528). Balcony seats go on sale late Tuesday for just $10 per ticket.
