Fatal crash closes I-74 in Fountain County
A semi driver was killed in a crash that closed I-74 in Fountain County Friday evening.
State police say a semi hauling cat food was traveling east on I-74 around 5:30 p.m. when it struck a bridge near the 21.5 mile marker. The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
INDOT inspectors have deemed the bridge (SR 341) is safe for travel.
Both directions of the interstate have been closed while police investigated the crash and workers cleaned up the cat food that was spilled in the crash. It is not known how long it will remain closed.?
