Fishers Police say one person was killed when a car flipped over on I-69 at the 106th Street overpass.  One other person was injured.

It happened about 2:09 a.m. Sunday at mile marker 204.

When Fishers Police arrived at the scene, they found a 2009 Ford Fusion had flipped over and struck a tree on the east side of the interstate.

The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.  The male passenger was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses at the scene said the car was traveling north on I-69 when it appeared the driver lost control and drove off the road.

The Fishers Police Department Crash Team collected evidence and reconstructed the crash.  The north bound lanes of I-69 were closed for three hours during the investigation.

Officials also said there were reports of slick roads at the time of the accident.  They say it was 17-degrees out with a 4-degree wind chill and snow flurries at the time the accident was reported.

The names of the victims are not being released, pending notification of family members.
