Family dog rescued from south Indianapolis fire
Firefighters rescued a dog from a house fire on the near south side of Indianapolis Wednesday.
Two adults and three children got out of the home at 413 Parkway Avenue after smoke detectors sounded in the house around 3:20 p.m. The family took their cat, "TK," outside, but firefighters had to locate their dog, "Roscoe," in the home.
Firefighters were able to find Roscoe, a Chihuahua-dachshund mix, and reunite him with his family. IEMS medics provided oxygen for the dog.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which remains under investigation.
