Explosion at Rolls Royce plant sends worker to hospital

Indianapolis - An explosion at an Indianapolis plant has injured a worker.

It happened Monday morning at 7:30 am at the Rolls Royce complex on the west side.

Firefighters say a heat- treating furnace exploded causing a flash fire that injured a worker. The man was able to walk to the plant's infirmary.

He was taken to Wishard Hospital with second degree burns to his face and chest.

The injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The explosion caused a small fire that was quickly extinguished. No other injuries were reported.
