Angola - Former U.S. Rep. Mark Souder  has joined the faculty at Trine University in Angola.

The private university about 40 miles north of Fort Wayne says Souder joined the staff of its School of Professional Studies where he will develop a concentration in political leadership and civic engagement for Trine's Master of Science in Leadership degree.

The Republican was first elected to Congress in 1994. He resigned his seat last May after admitting to an extramarital affair with a female staffer.

Trine's library will house Souder's congressional papers and digitize them for use by researchers.
