A southern Indiana man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident outside a bar in Columbus.

Twenty-five-year-old Jacob Tolbert of Elizabethtown faces preliminary charges of reckless homicide, leaving the scene of an accident causing death, and marijuana possession. He was being held Sunday in the Bartholomew County Jail, where records didn't indicate whether he had an attorney.

The crash about 1:45 a.m. Sunday left 26-year-old Thomas Brazzell of Seymour with fatal head injuries.

Witnesses told police that Tolbert's vehicle struck Brazzell and then drove away. Police found Tolbert at a home in Columbus.

Elizabethtown is a small community outside Columbus.
