EF-4 tornado damage found in Clark, Jefferson Co.
The National Weather Service says preliminary surveys of damage caused by Friday's tornadoes in southern Indiana show EF-4 tornado damage in Henryville in Clark County and near Chelsea in Jefferson County.
A tornado measuring an EF-3 on the enhanced Fujita scale hit near New Pekin in Washington County.
The tornado that hit Henryville was the first of two that tracked between New Pekin and Henryville. Weather officials say they followed essentially the same path and were separated by about 10 minutes.
The weather service office in Louisville says the assessment of the storms is complicated by the long distance involved. It was sending teams back to the damaged areas in southern Indiana and Kentucky on Sunday for further investigation.
