The heat is hard on everyone, but it is especially dangerous for the city's homeless.

An advocate for our city's homeless is trying to help them by organizing a collection of bottled water and bags of ice that volunteers will deliver to homeless people around the city this weekend.

"My major concern is that we don't have anybody else having anymore heat strokes, people dying from the heat, so my goal is to come down here Saturday with as many people and resources as possible to keep them hydrated for the summer season," said Jay Cornell, homeless advocate.

You can donate water, ice and coolers at the Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church on East 38th Street. They will be collecting until 8:00 pm Thursday night and Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
