AUBURN, Ind. (AP) - A 1930 Duesenberg sold for more than $1 million this weekend at a long-running classic car auction in northeastern Indiana, with two others coming close.

The crowd at Auctions America's sale in Auburn roared with applause when the 1930 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Coupe sold for $1.4 million.

The Star of Auburn reports other top sellers on Saturday included a 1929 Model J Sport Sedan that drew $875,000 and a 1935 Model SJ selling for $780,000.

Keith Koscak of Auctions America tells The Journal Gazette that the top-priced car was owned by Canadian collector Ross McEachran but declined to disclose the buyer.

The annual auction drew thousands of classic car fans over the weekend with hundreds of cars up for sale.
