For the first time this summer, central Indiana is showing up on the national drought monitor map.

Nearly our entire viewing area, with Indianapolis at the center, is now listed as "abnormally dry."

A couple of weeks ago, only a few counties in eastern Indiana were dry.

Now, the first stage of drought covers over thirty Indiana counties including a portion of northwest Indiana.
