Indianapolis Fire crews fished a car out of a canal in Broad Ripple early Sunday morning.

It is unknown how the driver ended up in the water.

It happened about 3:24 a.m. Sunday near Westfield Boulevard and College Avenue.

Officials said the single occupant was able to get out of the car on their own.  That driver was transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.

Fire crews stayed on the scene and pulled the car from the water.
