Driver accused in deadly crash appears in court

The man accused of causing a deadly crash involving a church van is due in court Wednesday morning.

Brandon Collins, 26, is charged with drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

Collins was driving his car Sunday night at 46th and Emerson when police say he rain a red light and hit a church van from the Jesus House of Prayer Temple.

The driver of the church van, 51-year-old Edward Sadler, died.

There were several children in the van at the time of the accident. One of them had a broken leg. All of them have been released from the hospital.
