As part of our Blue Pledge, we look for ways to help the community control crime.

The Indianapolis Department of Public Safety is focusing on the root cause of violence by inviting a 1st grade teacher to share her experience in the classroom. Tindley Renaissance Academy teacher Shelby Bradford said she sees students coping with emotional issues at an early age.

"I see a lot of...frustration or, like, emotional confusion, not being able to...really understand what emotions they're feeling and being able to channel that," explained Bradford.

The Department of Public Safety is working with the Peace Learning Center to help students learn better conflict resolution.
