Domestic violence suspect arrested again after police chase
A man accused of domestic violence faces even more charges after a police chase through Indy's northeast side.
Officers were responding to a disturbance call on Jamestown Court Sunday morning when they saw the suspect get into a minivan and take off. Police chased the van for nearly two miles before it crashed into a fence near 43rd Street and Shadeland Ave.
Officers arrested the man after he tried to run away.
Investigators said it's lucky no one was hurt.
"Vehicle pursuits are very dangerous," said IMPD Sgt. Russell Burns. "It's something we're required to monitor. If at any time we feel there's a public safety issue, we'll end it immediately. That's one-up for the suspect, but in this case, it didn't work for him."
Police are following up on the domestic dispute and say the woman involved was injured.
