A domestic disturbance Sunday turned into a SWAT situation in an east side neighborhood.

It started around 10:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of North Gray Street. A man at the home battered a woman with two children then barricaded himself in the basement, according to police.

The suspect eventually surrendered a few hours later. He was arrested for battery and, according to investigators, already had a domestic violence warrant out of Hendricks County.

The female victim suffered minor injuries.
