Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of 37-year-old Rafael A. Lopez of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses said Lopez was bobbing in the water at Lieber State Recreation Area around 3:30 p.m.  Bystanders brought him to shore and began performing CPR until medical personnel arrived, according to a statement from Conservation Officer Chris Springstun.

Lopez was taken by ambulance to Putnam County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Putnam County Coroner has scheduled an autopsy Monday morning in Terre Haute to determine a cause of death.
