Dept. of Education will not issue waivers for canceled days
The Department of Education will not issue waivers for schools that cancel classes due to snow Wednesday and Thursday.
Press secretary Daniel Altman says the expectation is that schools build extra days into their schedules and would use those days if they cancel class Wednesday and/or Thursday.
The department said earlier in the week they will issue waivers so schools that canceled classes on Monday and Tuesday will not have to make up those days, as long as they apply for a waiver.
