Metro Police and CSX Railroad investigators are trying to determine what caused a fatal crash along the tracks southwest of 34th and Arlington Avenue overnight.

Police say they found a pickup truck flipped over on the south side of tracks after several railroad employees reported seeing it from passing trains.  IMPD spokesman Lt. Christopher Bailey said a man was found trapped under the truck. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the man drove southwest, down the tracks, from the 34th Street crossing, lost control, and crashed behind a business in the 5600 block of Massachusetts Avenue.
