Deadline passes for $1M-winning Powerball lottery ticket
The final day has passed for claiming a $1 million winning Powerball ticket sold in southern Indiana six months ago.
The Hoosier Lottery says the ticket needed to be presented at its Indianapolis headquarters by 5 p.m. Monday to meet the 180-day deadline for claiming the pr9ize, but that didn't happen.
Hoosier Lottery officials say the ticket for the April 10 Powerball drawing was sold at a Circle K convenience store in Jeffersonville. The ticket matched the first five numbers, but not the Powerball number.
The winning numbers for that drawing were: 1-36-40-52-53 and Powerball 20.
Indiana's biggest unclaimed winning ticket was a $50 million Powerball jackpot from 2002.
An Indianapolis couple claimed a $2.5 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot just days before the deadline in 2010 after checking some old tickets.
