Dave Calabro's Olympics blog: Halfway point
Hey everybody back in the States! It's the middle of the night back home, but it's the middle of the afternoon here.
While you are sleeping, I am working. It's a nine-hour time difference. We have figured out the sleep game, for the most part. We just don't do much of it!
The halfway point is here on this journey and so far, no security issues. The locals have done a great job to make it safe.
My highlight so far had to be going to the mountains and watching Devin Logan win a Silver Medal in the slopestyle skiing event. Her mom was freaking out watching the event! As a parent, I can only imagine what that experience is like.
The mountains here are simply beautiful. The weather has been so mild that they have just enough snow to Pull off the "Winter" Olympics. The warm weather has caused issues with the halfpipe.
We are down along the coast by the Black Sea, where the temperature is 50 degrees and sunny!
Enjoy the coverage on Channel 13! I am anxious to get back home, even if it means I have to shovel snow again!
