Cyndi Lauper's Broadway show has won Tony Awards - and is now reaping benefits at the box office.

The Broadway League reports "Kinky Boots" took in nearly $1.5 million dollars last week - an increase of more than $62,000.

The show, featuring Lauper's songs, won best musical at the Tonys a week ago Sunday. Also making box office gains: "Motown the Musical." It didn't win a Tony, but got a lot of air time during the broadcast with a medley of Michael Jackson hits.

Last week it posted its best box office take ever.
