Cyndi Lauper says she walked her dog early yesterday, just in case there might be news about the Tony Awards.

The musical she co-wrote, "Kinky Boots," leads the Tony nominations with 13, including best musical. Lauper says she "still thrilled and a little stunned."

Trey Anastasio of Phish will compete with Lauper for best original score for his work on the short-lived musical "Hands on a Hardbody."

Although Bette Midler's one-woman show, "I'll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers," has gotten good reviews, it failed to get a Tony nomination.

The Tonys will be given out June 9 in New York.
