A bicyclist was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on the northwest side of Indianapolis Monday night.

IMPD Ofc. Kendale Adams says the male cyclist was riding west on W. 47th Street around 8:15 p.m. when he pulled into the path of an SUV that was traveling south on Georgetown Road. The driver of the SUV stopped immediately at the scene of the crash.

The cyclist was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
